Scrap Charging Crane for Steel Mill
For most factories that need cranes, cranes are just auxiliary equipment, not production-type equipment. But for the steel mill is an exception, because the crane in the production of steel, play an important role, here, it has been very important production equipment.
Today our long-term cooperation partner FF Steel which is the biggest steel mill factory of Pakistan, has successfully installed our scrap charging crane on their new workshop shed. This is the second batch of cranes that we have supplied to them, their new steel mill are equipped with these scrap charging cranes to expand its production capacity.
What is a scrap charging crane? Generally speaking, the scrap charging crane is used to lift the scrap used in steelmaking and put them into ladle and transported to blast furnace for smelting. i.e., the charging speed basically determines the production schedule of steel. So when we design there cranes, we adjusted the crane long travelling speed to be 80m/min, and the lifting speed is 10m/min, this type of crane is with hook, but the cable reel position is reserved on the cross trolley, so our customer can install the cable reel which will be used to supply power to the grab or magnet, and the garb and magnet is hanged under the crane hook, because the steel scrap is not fixed in shape, so the magnet or grab is best device to collect them. When you don’t need the grab or magnet, you can dismantle them and use the crane hook to handle the materials, therefore, it is also a dual-purpose crane which is widely used in scarp charging.
Next year, we will supply another batch of scrap charging cranes for FF steel with crane long travelling speed 100 m/min, we have always been experts in cranes for steel mills.
