How to improve the safety performance of crane brake
If the crane adopts the following braking methods, a safe and reliable effect can be achieved.
1. Use hydraulic disc brake
When closing the brake, the force of the brake shoe on the brake disc is axial rather than radial, so that the impact force of the brake disc is very small, and the probability of brake failure is minimized. Compared with hub brakes, hydraulic disc brakes have the characteristics of simple and reliable braking principle and fast closing response.
2. Increase the safety brake The crane safety brake to be added here refers to the brake setting of the vertical shiplift, adding a brake disc to the drum part and placing an array of disc brakes in the appropriate position to make them a completely independent set of safety systems. Dynamic system. The advantages of this are obvious.
(1) Free the manpower operation of the guardian and reduce the risk of injury;
(2) Enhance the safety and reliability of crane operation, and can effectively prevent the expansion of accidents when crane accidents occur. In layman’s terms, if the crane has a gear-off or hook slipping accident, even when the starter motor, drive shaft, working brake, and gearbox are all damaged, the safety brake on the drum part can effectively close and brake to stop the crane. The hook continues to decline to prevent the accident from further expanding;
(3) On some special bridge cranes that need to be mechanically switched between high and low speed gears by the gearbox, only the safety brake needs to be closed and braked to ensure that the drum is held tightly by the safety brake. Misoperation measures, you can release the working brake as needed to exchange work between high gear and low gear.
