What types of crane hooks are there?
As the best tool for lifting materials, cranes play a very good role in lifting and handling heavy objects in people's operations. When it comes to crane handling objects, the most important thing is the hook. So, do you really know about hooks? What types of crane parts hooks do you know? Let me explain to you below!
1. Generally speaking, according to the shape, crane hooks can be divided into single hook and double groove. If it is from the manufacturing method, it can be divided into forged hook and sheet hook. The single hook is easy to manufacture and use, and is used for lifting objects with relatively light weight; while the double-ditch weighing scale is larger, and is generally used for lifting objects with heavier weight. Generally forged single hooks are mainly used to lift cranes below 30T, double hooks are used to lift cranes from 50T to 100T; sheet-shaped single hooks are used to lift cranes from 75T to 350T, and double hooks are used to lift cranes above 100T.
2. Let's take a look at the cross-sectional shape of the hook body. Generally, there are round, square, trapezoidal and "T" shapes. According to the analysis of the force, the "T"-shaped cross-section design is the most reasonable, but the forging process is also more complicated; the trapezoidal cross-section is more reasonable in force and easy to forge, while the rectangular (square) cross-section is only used for sheet hooks. The load-bearing capacity is not fully utilized, it is relatively heavy, and the circular cross-section is only used for small hooks.
As for the tail part of the hook, if the triangular thread is used for forging, the stress concentration of this structure is serious and it is easy to break at the crack. Therefore, the trapezoidal or zigzag thread is often used in the tail of the large hook.
