Why is the wire rope of the bridge crane deformed?
Many bridge crane rope breaking accidents are caused by the pre-deformation and damage of the wire rope, which did not cause enough reproduction and formed a huge disaster. What is the reason for the deformation of the wire rope of the bridge crane? There are two main reasons:
1. Trauma
During the operation, the wire rope is not in normal contact with other equipment, which simply causes trauma. The obvious injury is that the wire rope slips inside the pulley and jumps out of the baffle on the drum. Therefore, steel wire ropes of tens of meters or even hundreds of meters are often scrapped due to partial rolling damage.
The key to avoid wire rope damage is to improve bridge crane equipment. The pulley should have a reliable anti-skid groove retaining ring, and the gap between the retaining ring and the outer ring of the pulley should not be greater than 1/5 of the diameter of the wire rope. The wire rope on the drum should not be too loose, so as to prevent the wire rope loop from jumping out of the baffle during the winding process and being damaged.
2. Crush
The wire rope is easy to collapse after being rolled up randomly on the drum. When the steel wire ropes are rolled randomly on the drum, they will roll each other, and the sound of "rolling creaking" will be announced when they are running. After the wire rope is crushed, it will soon show signs of broken wires and partial flattening.
The preventive measure is to select the deflection angle between the pulley and the drum according to the design specifications, and install rope guides or rope pressing equipment in the hoisting mechanism when necessary to avoid the wire rope of the bridge crane.
It doesn't matter if the wire rope of the bridge crane is deformed, as long as we replace it in time and match the appropriate new wire rope, it will not cause other problems.
